BASIC ENGINEERING

Basic Engineering Involves The Establishment Of The Basic Technical Concepts, Criteria And Standards For A Project, The Type And Size Of Plant, The Process And Equipment To Be Used, Allowances For Future Additions Or Expansions, And The Degree Of Mechanization And Automation To Be Used In The Plant. Selected Licensor Will Implement Basic Engineering Of The Licensed Unit For The Typical Project. Activities Will Essentially Be Continued During Extended Basic Engineering Stage. Such Activities Will Include.
- Coordination With The Licensor(S) For The Licensed Unit (S);
- Review Of Basic Design Prepared By The Licensor(S) For Licensed Unit (S);
- Basic Engineering Endorsement,
- Process And Utility Design Development Through HAZOP And Safety Review;
- Definition Of Hazardous Areas;
- Preparation Of Process Calculations And Material Balances;
- Preparation Of Balances Flow-Sheets;
- Preparation of Equipment Lists;
- Sizing Of Equipment;
- Preparation of Small Scale Preliminary Plant Layout Drawings;
- Preparation Of Preliminary Functional Specifications;
- Providing Basic Civil Information And Data With Respect To The Process & Equipment;
- Preparation Architectural, Structural, And Civil Drawing;
- Preparation General Utilities For Various Building and distributor Networks;
- Development of Operating, Training And Managing philosophies;
- Initial Pre-Commissioning/ Commissioning Plants;
- Plant And Equipment Layout through To AFC Plot Plants;
- Material Selection Philosophy;
- Requisition of Long Led Equipment And Bulks;
- Development of Underground Services Requirements through to AFC Status;
- Finalization Of Control System Operating And Integration
- Requisition Of Control System;
- Power Supply And Distribution Design through to AFC Single Line Diagrams And Purchase Requisitions For Major Electrical Equipment;
- Input of Construction Requirement Into The Extended Basic Engineering Design;The Basic Engineering Must Be Carried Out At The Beginning Of Any Project. It Is The First And Most Important Step In The Detailed Engineering Design Of A Project.
